Donate to the Shelter’s Operations Fund

 Contributions to the shelter’s operating fund are always needed. This is the money that allows the shelter to run on a daily basis, feeds our animals, pays for medical treatments and supports our many programs for fostering and adoption. Contributions to our operating fund can be made through:

• Downloading our donation form. If would like your donation to be made in honor or memory of beloved people or pets, please use this form. Honors and memorials cannot be done through Pay Pal.

Donate to the Shelter Building Fund

The GMHS is raising funds to pay for our new shelter facility so future funding can be applied to operational needs.  Donations to our building fund can be made through:

• Downloading our donation form.
• Brick by Brick Program.  Our Brick by Brick program offers inscribed bricks for sale that make up the walkway leading up to and around the shelter and honor the people and pets of our community.

Donate to the Helen’s Gift Fund

Helen’s Gift is a fund established by her family in memory and honor of Mrs. Helen Hutcheson, resident of Ware Neck and Richmond, Virginia whose profound love of animals lead her to rescue and care for a variety of happy four-legged friends throughout her lifetime. The purpose of the fund is to provide supporting resources for the pets of individuals who have passed away or become incapacitated and can no longer care for a beloved animal. Animals from these backgrounds are often surrendered to the GMHS, where we strive to provide them with the care they need and with opportunities to be adopted by a new family.
 

Sponsor a Homeless Pet

 Our pet sponsorship program matches animals available for adoption with sponsors who donate gift cards, supplies or services that are given to the animal’s new family when they adopt a sponsored pet.

Donate Toys, Supplies and Services

 The many homeless pets who currently call our shelter “home” benefit from all donations of animal care products and services to the shelter.  Check our current wish list to learn what items are most needed now.

Donate Your Time

 The GMHS survives and thrives on the time and talents of our many volunteers who make such a difference in the lives of our wonderful animals. We are always in need of people to help with animal care and socialization, shelter maintenance, event planning and participation, and fundraising efforts. Shop & Search

Did you know you can support the GMHS just by shopping and searching the internet?  Here are a few ways;

1. If you shop at Food Lion and have an MVP card, visit www.foodlion.com/IntheCommunity/ShopAndShare/ and sign up for the Shop and Share Program.  Be sure to select the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society as the organization you wish to support.  Then each time you shop at Food Lion and use your MVP card, a portion of your total grocery purchase will be donated to us.
2. Use the Good Search engine each time you search the internet or shop via the internet.  To sign up visit  www.goodsearch.com and designate the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society as the organization you wish to support
3. Like Antiques?  Shop at the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society booth located in the Marketplace Antiques.  Marketplace Antiques is located in the White March Shopping Center.

United Way Campaign
