Thank you for making shelter adoption your FIRST option!
There are so many wonderful animals available for adoption
at the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society, and they're all
just waiting for the right people to come along and give
them good homes. The staff and volunteers at GMHS interact
with the animals daily, so they get to know the animals'
personalities, and will be glad to help you find the right
one for you.

If you don’t find your perfect companion, please check back
as we get new animals in on a daily basis.
Keep in mind that adopting a pet is a big decision. Dogs
and cats are living beings who require a lot of time, money,
and commitment--over 15 years' worth in many cases. Pet
ownership can be incredibly rewarding, but only if you
think through your decision before
you adopt a companion.
